About Us
Pretty Cool Marketing is an Australian creative and content systems business helping founders, creators, and businesses build story-led content and publishing workflows.
CULO is a Canva-integrated publishing and storytelling tool built by Pretty Cool Marketing that helps users organise, generate, and publish content directly inside Canva.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you use our services, we may collect:
Name and contact information
Email address
Business information
Uploaded media and creative assets (photos, videos, audio)
Usage and interaction data
Form submissions and onboarding responses
Payment or transaction information (processed through third-party providers; we do not store card details)
Media & File Access
When you connect third-party services such as Google Drive or Dropbox, CULO only accesses files and media you explicitly select. We do not scan, index, or sync your entire cloud library.
Imported content may include photos, videos, B-roll footage, voiceovers, vlog clips, and other creative assets. All imported media is used solely to support your creative workflow inside Canva.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
Provide, operate, and improve our services
Support media import and content publishing features
Generate story-led content workflows
Respond to support enquiries
Deliver purchased products or services
Communicate service updates, launches, or offers (you may unsubscribe at any time)
We do not sell personal information or user data to third parties.
AI & Content Generation
Some CULO features use AI-assisted processing to help structure, organise, or shape content outputs. You remain responsible for reviewing and approving all generated content before publishing. We aim to preserve your voice and minimise unnecessary data retention wherever possible.
Google API Data & Permissions
CULO accesses user-selected files through Google APIs, including Google Drive, subject to your explicit authorisation.
What we access: We request read-only access to Google Drive solely to allow you to browse and select your own files for import into Canva. We do not read, modify, delete, or manage any files you have not explicitly selected.
How we use it: Data obtained from Google APIs is used only to complete the file import workflow you initiate. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the CULO service.
How long we keep it: Files temporarily processed through Google integrations are deleted from our servers within 24 hours of the completed import, and in most cases are not stored at all beyond the duration of the active session.
Sharing: Google user data is not sold, transferred, or disclosed to third parties except as necessary to operate the service (e.g. delivery to your Canva design).
Limited Use: CULO's use of data received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only for the purposes described in this policy.
Permissions currently requested:
drive.readonly — read-only access to files you select from Google Drive

Permissions pending Google approval:
photoslibrary.readonly — read-only access to your Google Photos library, allowing you to browse and import photos and albums directly into CULO. This integration is currently pending access approval from Google and is not yet active. Once approved, it will be subject to the same Limited Use, retention, and non-sharing commitments described above.
Other things worth adding:
1. Data location / jurisdiction Google requires this for verification, and it's good practice for Australian privacy law (Privacy Act 1988):
"Our servers and third-party infrastructure may be located in Australia, the United States, or other countries. By using our services you consent to your data being processed in those jurisdictions."
2. Legal basis (for any EU users — covers GDPR)
"We process personal data on the basis of legitimate interest in providing our services and, where required, with your explicit consent."
3. Australian Privacy Act reference Since you're an Australian business:
"Pretty Cool Marketing is committed to compliance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles."
4. Revocation of Google access
"You can revoke CULO's access to your Google account at any time by visiting https://myaccount.google.com/permissions."
